Senior Project Manager of Automation
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager who will be responsible for leading the automation initiatives within the client’s company international engineering department. The primary focus will be on optimizing parcel sorting processes across various sites throughout Europe, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and seamless integration with existing operations. This role requires a combination of strategic planning, project management, technical expertise, and effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Skills/Experience:
- Proven experience in automation project management, preferably within the logistics or parcel delivery sector
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess ROI and optimize processes
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for managing supplier relationships and collaborating with internal stakeholders
- Proficiency in CAD software for blueprint creation and design validation
- Experience in budget management and financial reporting
- Fluency in both English and French languages, both written and spoken
- Ability to travel regularly within Europe for site visits and supplier meetings
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Responsibilities:
- Design and adapt previous sorter designs and technologies to suit the specific requirements of each new project and building
- Collaborate with country Chief Operating Officers (COOs) to gather requirements for automation projects
- Conduct simulations to evaluate Return on Investment (ROI) for each automation project, considering local processes and labor costs
- Design and adapt previous sorter designs and technologies to suit the specific requirements of each new project and building
- Create the 3D/2D blueprints for new projects and validate them with operations teams
- Partner with the procurement team to manage the purchase of sorters, including direct procurement of subsystems and integration between companies
- Adapt and manage Request for Quotation (RFQ) files then legal contracts for each site and project, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement
- Oversee site installations, address facility manager questions, and ensure smooth implementation of automation systems
- Conduct reception tests and follow-up on any necessary corrections to ensure the functionality and quality of installed systems
- Prepare monthly reports to the group level, providing updates on project progress, financial performance, and key metrics
- Regularly evaluate potential new suppliers and emerging technologies relevant to automation in the parcel delivery industry
