Data Engineer

Client – is a SaaS company that has built a next-generation data integration and analytics platform — a hyper-integration platform combining system integration, real-time data management, and advanced analytics to accelerate digital transformation for businesses.
As a Data Engineer you will be designing and building new features for our platform and integration as part of a cross-functional team, including real-time data pipelines, data lake/warehouses, and other innovative tooling.
Experience / Skills:
- 4+ years experience in Data Engineering/Architecture (or similar)
- Knowledge of different data tooling and data stores
- Proficiency in SQL & Python
- Experience working with Spark (PySpark) or similar
- Building data warehouses & data lakes (Ideally BigQuery)
- Developing real-time Data/ETL pipelines
- Orchestration frameworks such as Dataform, Airflow, and GCP Workflows
- Cloud platforms, especially GCP services such as GCS, Cloud Functions, and Dataproc
- Familiarity with containerization and IaC tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Worked within an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, etc)
- Previous experience in the retail domain or DataBricks is nice to have
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a cross-functional squad to deliver new features using agile methodologies
- Design and build data warehouses and data lakes
- Implement data pipelines and complex data flows
- Model and map client data, build views and materializations for BI/analytics
- Data Quality engineering, implementing patterns that clean and enrich data in reliable ways
- Contribute to peer reviews and engineering tooling, such as dataflow and terraform
- Work with clients to analyse requirements and implement solutions
- Help the company continuously improve by contributing to the wider data engineering community, as well as your squad
