We are looking for a seasoned Data Engineer to own the Client’s batch data pipelines and dbt models – the critical infrastructure that delivers daily demand forecasts to customers and provides data scientists with the stable, well-defined data they need to continuously improve AI models.

Project – an end-to-end, real-world demand-forecasting platform where engineers can directly improve how deep-learning predictions are produced and served daily using messy multi-source retail data at a meaningful scale.

This is a batch-focused, hands-on engineering role within a small, highly autonomous remote team.  There is no legacy bureaucracy: fresh ideas on data warehouse architecture are actively welcomed.

Experience / Skills required:

Must have:

  • Hands-on 6+ years of Data Engineering experience in production environments
  • Deep expertise with SQL complex transformations, performance tuning, and query optimization
  • Expertise with dbt: models, tests, macros, project structure, and governance
  • Strong experience with columnar data warehouses, in particular Amazon Redshift
  • Deep experience with columnar data processing in Python: Apache Arrow, Parquet, Polars, Pandas, DuckDB
  • Strong in data pipeline orchestration: Airflow, Dagster, Step Functions, or equivalent
  • Hands-on cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code on AWS (Batch, Lambda, Step Functions)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, version-controlled deployments
  • Upper-Intermediate English and better

Good to have:

  • Hands-on experience with Dagster specifically
  • Arrow Flight SQL
  • Data lakehouse architecture
  • Feature store design and implementation
  • Airbyte or Fivetran experience
  • Experience training and deploying ML models in production
  • Terraform

Responsibilities:

  • Own, maintain, and simplify the dbt project and SQL pipelines end-to-end
  • Support and ensure the reliability of daily batch production prediction pipelines
  • Design and implement robust batch jobs on AWS (AWS Batch, Lambda, Step Functions)
  • Improve data modeling foundations and data quality across the warehouse
  • Build and maintain reliable core entities and upstream feature engineering for data science
  • Set up and enforce data quality guardrails and CI/CD automation across the warehouse and orchestration stack
  • Design and manage DevOps practices for the data engineering stack
  • Manage cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code
  • Administer and optimise the pipeline orchestrator (Dagster preferred)
  • Partner closely with data scientists to provide stable, well-documented features and data contracts
  • Communicate proactively and clearly in a fully remote, English-speaking environment
  • Work independently and take full ownership within a lean, fast-moving team

We offer:

  • Competitive salary with the regular review
  • Vacation (up to 20 working days)
  • Paid sick leaves (10 working days)
  • National Holidays as paid time off (11 days)
  • Online English courses
  • Accountant assistance and legal support
  • Flexible working schedule, remote
  • Direct cooperation with the customer
  • Dynamic environment with low level of bureaucracy and great team spirit
  • Challenging projects in diverse business domains and a variety of tech stacks
  • Communication with Top/Senior level specialists to strengthen your hard skills
