Senior DevOps Engineer (Romania)

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the project team of our Client, a fast-growing company from the Silicon Valley, that develops a mobile app which provides millions of families in over 150 countries with services such as private location sharing, location history, drive details, crash detection, roadside assistance and help alerts through our free and paid membership subscription. Their customer base currently exceeds 66 million monthly active users. The company is at the forefront of a broad range of technologies (mobile, location services, hardware sensors, machine learning, big data, etc) in pioneering its family-centric platform. 

Requirements: 

• 5+ years’ experience with AWS services: EC2, EKS, SQS 
• 5+ years’ experience with relational or non-relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra
• Strong experience with queuing/stream technologies such as Kafka and NSQ 
• Proficient in microservices and horizontally scalable architectures  
• Practical understanding of how to deploy and maintain systems with Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus and Terraform 
• Working experience using and reading scripting and programming languages like Java, Python, Go, Ruby or Bash  
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines such as Argo, ECR, Jenkins, CircleCI and BuildKite  
• Experience with high-scale, low-latency systems 
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar quantitative field or the equivalent industry experience 
• Upper-Intermediate English and better 
• Previous experience effectively working with a US-based team asynchronously 

Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with our distributed teams across North America on Cloud and DevOps projects  
• Upgrade Kubernetes deployments to the latest version  
• Maintain Libraries and OSs upgraded and current  
• Test and deploy security patches  
• Work on projects that ensure we meet security and compliance guideline  
• Propose upgrades and updates to ensure scalability, reliability, and resilience  
• Update our CI/CD pipelines to reduce build and deployment time  
• Help our Test Engineering team to automate services and component validation further
