Senior PHP Developer (BigCommerce certified)

We are looking for a Senior PHP Developer to join our client’s team – a fast-growing wellness and lifestyle company based in Germany.

Project – is a customer-facing digital platform that supports the end-to-end operation of private spa locations. It covers online booking, payments, customer accounts, and location-based services, while also powering internal operational workflows and analytics. The platform focuses on scalability, reliability, and a high-quality user experience as the business continues to expand across multiple cities.

Requirements:

-5+ years of experience in backend development with PHP
-Strong hands-on experience with Symfony (services, APIs, architecture, best practices)
-Proven experience with BigCommerce, including custom integrations and backend-driven storefront logic (BigCommerce certification is required)
-Solid understanding of e-commerce platforms, order lifecycles, payments, vouchers/gift cards, and booking flows
-Experience with authentication, authorization, and session management for customer-facing platforms
-Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and integrating third-party systems
-Experience with Showare and/or Xental is a nice to have
-Good understanding of code quality, testing, and debugging in production environments
-Upper-Intermediate English level, confident verbal and written communication
-Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a senior role

Responsibilities:

-Rebuild the customer platform on BigCommerce, owning backend architecture, integrations, and data flows
-Implement/maintain Symfony (PHP) services/APIs to support booking, vouchers, customer accounts, and operational workflows
-Integrate BigCommerce with external systems: booking engine, voucher/gift card logic, payments, email/SMS notifications, and analytics
-Design and migrate data: customers, orders, vouchers, bookings, locations, pricing rules; ensure data quality and rollback plans
-Build secure auth/session flows for the customer portal (e.g., booking management, cancellations/refunds rules).
