Senior Data Scientist

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist, with a proven track record of successfully designing and delivering on commercial machine learning projects, to join our high-performing agile team, working on a cloud-based data analysis and business intelligence platform. 

As the primary Data Scientist on our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data-driven projects. This role involves hands-on work in Supervised Learning, Entity Resolution (ER), Record Linkage, and Natural Language Processing (NLP), and with other data science disciplines. You will work alongside a high performing team of software developers to engage in business analysis, collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, and implement scalable solutions.

Client – software development agency that specializes in web application development, data pipelines, analytics, business intelligence, UI/UX design, and Azure-hosted cloud services. The project is about to do the processing of financial data (more payment invoices and accounting side, it is not credit cards). 

The tool analyzes the data for their customers with various recommendations when it comes to the payment activities, payment behavior of the supply chain. 

HQ – UK, Manchester 

Requirements:

• 5+ years commercial experience in DataScience or related 
• Proven expertise in Python and data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc)
• Demonstrable experience in machine learning, with a focus on Supervised Learning and Entity Resolution (ER), and Natural Language Processing (NLP)
• Proficiency in data manipulation, analysis, and visualization tools
• Solid understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture principles
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, including Azure Machine Learning 
• A degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, focusing on data science or machine learning, or equivalent work experience 
• Highly proficient in English (Advanced Level) 

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies 
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines 

Responsibilities: 

• Machine Learning: Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models, particularly focusing on Supervised Learning and Entity Resolution (ER) , and Natural Language Processing (NLP)
• Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive data analysis and business analysis to inform strategic decisions and identify actionable insights
• Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science solutions into our broader technology ecosystem
• Data Science: Serve as the lead for data science initiatives, guiding the team through the complexities of data science and machine learning projects
