Our customer is a high-growth consumer mobile company from the USA that has raised >$200 million in equity capital since inception. The customer base currently exceeds 25 million monthly active users. The company is at the forefront of a broad range of technologies (mobile, location services, hardware sensors, machine learning, big data, etc) in pioneering its family-centric platform. The company has over 160 employees and counting across offices in the USA. This platform for today’s busy families, bringing them closer together by helping them better sync, communicate with and protect the people they care about most. We are looking for Senior Cloud Build/Release Engineer with a strong technological background and analytical thinking to participate in the development of this innovative mobile platform

Team: Kyiv (10+ppl) – USA (30+ppl)

Must have skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of combined experience with CI/CD, Java/Groovy coding and DevOps
  • This position uses primarily Groovy and Java. To a lesser degree, you’ll also use Python. Be proficient with at least two of these languages
  • Excellent understanding of continuous integration as well as continuous delivery
  • Agile software development experience
  • Ability to work across multiple teams in parallel
  • Ability to distill important details from ill-defined problems

Will be a plus:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • An understanding and practice of the importance of craftsmanship and incremental delivery
  • Comfortable with a modicum of uncertainty
  • Strong and clear communicator that can listen as well as articulate ideas
  • Strong collaboration and sense of teamwork to achieve ambitious goals

Even better if you have:

  • Experience writing CPS methods in Java or Groovy
  • Experience with two or more of the following: Jenkins, CircleCI, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy
  • Experience with container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, ECS, Docker Swarm)
  • Experience with mobile application delivery tools (Fastlane, TestFlight, Playstore or Appaloosa)

Responsibilities:

  • Implement Jenkins orchestration as designed/spec’ed
  • Orchestrate across a wide variety of AWS products such as DynamoDB, CloudFormation, EKS, S3, Aurora along with related application development tools (ex. Github, Gradle, various linting tools, etc)
  • Use Sonatype Nexus for artifact management
  • Actively author build and deployment declarative pipelines for multiple Life360 products and teams including cloud, mobile, and operations
