Engineering Manager

We’re seeking a talented and experienced Engineering Manager to join our client’s team, which builds wellness plan financing solutions for veterinary clinics.

Project: A veterinary wellness plans platform that allows clinics to offer subscription-style care plans to pet owners. The system manages plans, payments, clinic workflows, and customer interactions, helping reduce financial barriers to pet healthcare and improve clinic cash flow.

As a Senior Software Engineer / Engineering Manager, you’ll work on the client’s web platform while providing technical leadership for the engineering team. You’ll drive the development of new wellness plan features, improve the overall user experience, and help operate a platform relied on daily by clinics and pet owners.

Requirements: 

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience in leading engineers or small teams 

• Hands-on experience with JavaScript and TypeScript in production environments 

• Strong proficiency with the tech stack: ReactJS, NodeJS, Tailwind, PostgreSQL, and AWS 

• Proven ability to design, code, and test scalable full-stack web applications, from database to UI 

• Experience owning technical decisions and leading architectural discussions (systems design, performance, scalability, UX) 

• Ability to mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and raise overall code quality 

• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders 

• A self-motivated team player who takes initiative, drives execution, and balances hands-on development with team leadership 

• Advanced English (daily communication with U.S.-based stakeholders) 

Responsibilities: 

• Lead a small cross-functional engineering team while remaining hands-on in day-to-day development 

• Design, build, and maintain backend and frontend features of the core platform 

• Own features end-to-end: requirements clarification, technical design, implementation, testing, and deployment 

• Participate in and drive architectural decisions, continuously improving performance, scalability, and reliability 

• Collaborate directly with U.S.-based engineers, product managers, and leadership, acting as a technical point of contact 

• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship 

• Ensure delivery of clean, maintainable, well-tested code and healthy engineering practices
