Senior DevOps/Gitlab Platform Engineer

We are looking for an experienced GitLab Platform Engineer to join a fast-growing European startup specializing in GitLab consulting and DevOps solutions. As a trusted partner of GitLab, the company helps businesses across Europe optimize their software development processes by implementing and configuring GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes environments. 

Role Overview: 

As a GitLab Platform Engineer, you will work on deploying, configuring, and optimizing GitLab solutions for customers, focusing on automation, CI/CD integration, and cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable and secure DevOps solutions, assisting with migrations, and contributing to best practices in infrastructure as code (IaC). 

Requirements: 

  • Strong experience with Git, GitLab, and GitLab CI/CD, including complex pipeline creation 
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including installation, troubleshooting, and deployment 
  • Ability to develop applications, build containers, create Helm charts, and deploy via ArgoCD (or FluxCD) 
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, optionally Ansible) 
  • Professional exposure to AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms 
  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles and best practices 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote, async-first environment 
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining GitLab environments 
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote and largely asynchronous work environment 

Responsibilities: 

  • Install, configure, and maintain GitLab solutions in customer environments (Linux omnibus or Kubernetes) 
  • Develop, document, and implement CI/CD pipelines and workflows 
  • Manage and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform, optionally Ansible) 
  • Deploy and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters, ensuring optimal performance 
  • Support GitLab CI/CD automation, writing and maintaining pipelines 
  • Assist in the migration of version control systems (VCS) and data to GitLab 
  • Collaborate with technical architects to deliver high-quality solutions tailored to customer needs 
  • Contribute to the improvement of documentation, automation scripts, and internal workflows
